“Google Docs” and "Google Drive"

 

Google Docs and Google Drive is an open source program. At first this site was called Google docs but on April 24, 2012 they released a new version of it and are now calling it Google Drive. Google Drive is used by many people and it has many different features. The basic concept of it is to be able to save work you did on one computer but to be able to log onto another computer and have what you were working on right there. It is very useful.

           Google drive in very convenient for people who work or go to school. This is so because you can be at work or school and working on a project you need to have done for the next day and then go home at work on it at your personal computer.Students in school find google docs very helpfun becaue alot of times people dont get work done at school and if they didnt bring their flash drive into school that day they would be able to work on it at home.  

There is this really cool feature that allows you to share your project with other people. Let’s say you have a group project for school or a team presentation at work. You would all be able to have the exact same slideshow or document. You can also work on it at the same time and you don’t even need to be near them. All the edits someone else you shared the project with makes will appear right on our screen as they are making them.

Google Drive is basically an internet flash drive. It’s free and it is one less thing for you to carry with you. I would definitely recommend checking out Google Drive because it can be very helpful. The only bad thing is that you are leaving your project floating in internet space and at any given moment something could go wrong and delete whatever you were working on. If you are going to be doing things on Google drive then always double save it, just to be safe. 

Google Drive is not used for Social, Entertainment, News, and or Recreational related things. But this should not stop you from getting a Google Drive account because it is very useful for other things too.

“Facebook and Google+”

Social Networks such as Facebook and or Google + Have been becoming very popular the last few years. These sites have a wide variety of people who use it and they use it for different reasons too. You have a very wide range of people’s age. It could go from 13 years old to let’s say around 65 year olds. There are also businesses that use Facebook.

Facebook is a very popular social networking site. It was founded on February 4, 2004. It has grown a lot since then. Anyone can create a Facebook; you just need to have a valid email address so they can send you stuff when you get notification and when you have reminders .People use Facebook for different reasons. Some use it to be able to see what their old and new friends are up to, also to stay in touch with people that you don’t see often. I would assume that college kids love Facebook because it allows them to stay connected to their friends from high school without having to be living like five minutes away. It allows you to see what the person is done or has done by seeing what photos they have posted. Facebook also allows you to know what a person likes, you can see what movies, shows, music and what sports they like to do.

Facebook can be a very dangerous site People put too much of their personal information up on Facebook which allows people to know everything about you. You may think that it doesn’t matter because all my friends already know this stuff but more than just your friends can look at what you post.  So sometimes it’s not safe.

Facebook can be used by businesses too. Businesses use Facebook to have a free advertisement for their business. A business can create a page which allows people to like it and have whatever they post pop up on their dashboard.

Facebook can also be used for entertainment because you are able to like pages of shows you like and have previews of what will happen next week on the latest episode.

News isn’t that common on Facebook because it is not really used to figure out what the weather will be or if there was just a crime. The only exception would be if someone your friend posts about something that happened then that would be the way you would find out. Facebook can be recreational because you can have the option of playing games through Facebook.

LinkedIn in Technological Communication

LinkedIn is a type of social networking website that is designed for people in professional occupations. LinkedIn allows you to discover different professional opportunities, business deals and more. It gives you the latest news and allows you to stay connected with the business world. LinkedIn was launched in 2003. It is a free service to use.

It is becoming more and more common for businesses professionals to be using social networks to form a relationship with other businesses. It also helps them to meet new contacts that they may not have known were out there and it allows them to market themselves in a different way. LinkedIn allows you to keep your personal and professional life separate. There are more than 25 million users. This site if used correctly can be extremely beneficial to the business you are trying to run. LinkedIn allows you to raise awareness of your businesses.

People who deal with the entertainment business can also benefit from LinkedIn as well. It can allow them to get connected with other people in the same industry. It can help actors and or actress be discovered. It also can help them get a job. They will be able to make connections with agency’s to help them launch their career.

You wouldn’t necessarily use LinkedIn as a recreational site but more as a business site to help you improve your business. News also isn’t used that much with LinkedIn. The news doesn’t really benefit from LinkedIn because it doesn’t have that much to offer it. It can maybe be useful to let other people know about the news you are trying to promote.

Overall LinkedIn is a good site if you are just starting a business or you have had one for a while. It will benefit you to go and create an account because it allows you to make connections with people you may not have known were there. Also if people are going through the same stages of trying to get their business off the ground they could help each other. So it is a positive site to sign up for and its free to do which always makes things better.

Twitter and its Technology

People these days rely on technology to allow them to say connected to other people. There are several different types of Social Medias that are allowing people to stay connected with using technology. There is Facebook, Twitter, Vine, Instagram and many more. People use these types of Social Medias to allow other people to let them know what is going on in their life. This allows people to stay connected without having to ask people what their up to.

There are some ways that when you think of technology that it could be a bad thing that we have so many different types of social Medias. This could be true because it gets ride of the aspect of having to ask someone what there up to because you could already know by looking what they have posted. So it is eliminating the fact that people actually talking to each other. This could eventually cause people to become bad at having communication skills.

For businesses different types of Social Medias are very helpful for them. It gives them a way to advertise their business in a way that won’t cost them any money. It allows for a large variety of people to see the advertisement and it allows people to become aware on what you’re promoting. There are a lot of clothing businesses that on instagram take pictures of what clothing products their selling and post what they look like. It allows people to know what is in the store and it makes you want to go to the store when you see something you like.

There are a lot of different aspects of entertainment when it comes to social media. For instance you have people posting Vines which can and most of the times are very funny. People also write funny things on twitter. All these things are a different way of keeping some entertained. Also celebrities have if not all many of these types of social medias. They post things allowing people to know what they are up to go going to be doing. It allows people to know what they are thinking about or what is going on in their day.

  Not a lot of people have time or really want to sit around and know what the latest news is. So people can follow news channels on twitter and it allows them to stay in the know but also be on the go. I personally like this option better because it allows me to know what’s going on without having to read the newspaper or sit and watch the news.  In a way this could be bad for the news shows because if people don’t have to stay home and watch the news the channel can lose viewers and that could affect their show.

Overall technology has been good but also bad. It is allowing people to do different things and staying connected. For businesses it is great because it promotes what they are selling. I think all in all technology is helping us but I guess you could say there are some down falls.
